Holiday Resources
From the Sources: Texts on Jewish Social Justice
From the Sources is a teaching resource designed to help rabbis and Jewish educators engage in thoughtful text study with students and congregants. The publication introduces several texts with guiding questions that explore a social justice theme arising from a Jewish holiday. Each year, AJWS will create four new text studies. Over the course of several years, AJWS will develop a resource for each of the Jewish holidays, ultimately providing a catalogue of social justice holiday teaching.
Chag v'Chesed: Holiday Dvar Tzedek
Written by prominent leaders in the Jewish community, Chag v’Chesed draws on teachings from the holiday to inform our thinking about Judaism and social justice. This publication is designed to be easily printed and we invite synagogues and community organizations to make copies of Chag v’Chesed available to congregants and community members.
