Apply for a Grant

How to Apply for a Grant

The first step in applying for a grant is to submit a letter of inquiry or concept note that is 3 pages in length. You will receive confirmation that we received your letter by email or regular mail shortly after we receive the submission.

We will be in touch with your organization to request additional information or a full proposal only if there is a strong possibility that we can provide support.

AJWS grants range in size from $3,000-$30,000 per year. Our grants are awarded for a year at a time; they may be renewed annually. Preference is given to small organizations with annual budgets lower than $300,000.

Letters of inquiry are accepted throughout the year, and we award new grants two times a year.
