Asociacion Cultural y Educativo Ukema No'j (ACEUN)
ACEUN was founded in 1996 to respond to the severe educational limitations faced by children and youth from Mayan communities in the Juyabaj region due to poverty and the lack of opportunities to study beyond primary school. The organization created a "Basic Education Institute" that implements educational, cultural and artistic programs for local children and youth, and also supports local youth with scholarships to study in high schools and universities outside their communities.
