Centro para los Derechos de la Mujer, Naaxwiin
Centro para los Derechos de la Mujer 'Naaxwiin' began as the women's rights and health team within AJWS grantee UCIZONI, and was founded in 2000 to promote the rights and integral health of rural, indigenous women, children and youth in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Oaxaca. The organization works with indigenous women victims of violence to provide counseling, psychosocial support, and access to the justice system, and works to sensitize local authorities and institutions to become effectively involved in preventing and addressing violence against women.
