The Online Development Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of AJWS' online fundraising program. He/she will provide overall direction and management of AJWS' online fundraising efforts, craft e-mail appeals to donors, and develop and implement online fundraising campaigns geared toward reaching new audiences using traditional and Web 2.0 methods. Prior experience in traditional or online fundraising and donor recruitment required.

• Work with AJWS communications and development staff to develop fundraising campaigns and strategies that reinforce the AJWS core brand and are synchronized with offline fundraising efforts     
• Oversee all online fundraising efforts and manage online fundraising calendar
• Write compelling fundraising copy for welcome messages, renewal appeals, special appeals and sustainer appeals
• Expand the use of Web and e-mail technologies for donor appeals and keep current with best practices in online fundraising strategies and methods
• Create metrics to measure success and inform future fundraising strategy
• Work with database administrators to produce regular reports on online program results and return on investment analyses and additional reports on an as-needed basis

• Minimum of three years of experience in the field of fundraising or e-communications, direct marketing or donor solicitation
• Bachelor's degree
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Jewish and social justice issues and knowledge of international development issues
• Knowledge of HTML and experience with Web design a plus
• Excellent project management and task tracking abilities
• Prior experience in a fast-paced, growth-oriented global organization
• Ability to meet deadlines, often within very tight timeframes
• Exceptional attention-to-detail and organizational skills
• Highly professional demeanor
• Strong interpersonal skills and judgment
• Capable of working well with a variety of personalities and leadership styles
